My name is Heba, and I am the mother of a beautiful little boy named Islam. He is only 2 years old, and he is my only child. Islam is the center of my world — he is the reason I wake up every morning. He loves to laugh, play, and fill our home with joy. But our lives changed forever when Islam was diagnosed with leukemia (blood cancer). Overnight, my playful, smiling baby became weak and tired, spending his days in a hospital bed instead of in my arms laughing. I am raising Islam alone as a single mother. I used to work as a teacher to provide for him but I lost my job because of the war.
Now I have nothing, and my son’s life depends on something far beyond my reach. Here in Gaza, hospitals are overwhelmed and do not have the equipment, or medicines needed to treat him. The doctors told me clearly: Islam must be treated abroad if he is to survive.
Every day we wait, his condition gets worse, and my heart breaks a little more. As his mother, I would give my life to save him.
I am begging you — please, help me give my little boy a chance. Your kindness, your prayers, and your support can open the door to hope for Islam. Please don’t let his story end here.
Help me give him the chance to grow up, to play again, and to live. From the depths of my heart, thank you. —
